Exclusive! More details on the track-focused Alpine A110 R

The Alpine A110 R – a track-focused sports car based on the A110 S was teased earlier this week. It will be officially revealed on the sidelines of the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

You may have seen the teaser images featuring all the performance parts that will go onto the A110 R. Now, we would like to share some more information that we’ve been able to dig up through our sources.

We’ve been told that the Alpine A110 R will be the most extreme A110 ever made with a chassis setup for maximum performance. Rumours suggest the car will come equipped with carbon fibre wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. It even gets an aero-optimized set of wheels at the rear.

Speaking of aerodynamics, the A110 R is said to come with a carbon fibre hood, a rear spoiler and a large carbon diffuser. Lightweight carbon seats with 6-point racing harnesses, and a carbon roof will further help bring down the weight.

As per our sources, the A110 R is likely to weigh around 1060 kg. Combine that with a mid-mounted 1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine tuned to around 340 hp, you have a proper track weapon that can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds! In its current configuration, this engine puts out 296 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque.

The Alpine A110 R will be offered in an exclusive Alpine F1 Racing exterior colour. Each car will be numbered, and the starting price is expected to be around €100,000 before options.
