Man tries to hit woman with car after attempting to steal car engine

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – An affidavit claimed that a person who was employed to deal with a woman’s motor vehicle was charged after allegedly attempting to strike her with his auto adhering to a verbal altercation.

According to an affidavit obtained by News4, law enforcement ended up identified as to a home at 2009 Jones Circle on April 1st immediately after the resident stated she feared for her life due to a gentleman who was employed to set a new engine in her vehicle commenced threatening her.

The sufferer informed police that she had employed Joshua L. Charlton, 35, to replace her motor on Thursday, March 31st. The affidavit said immediately after the sufferer informed Charlton that she was not contented with his perform and fired him, he began sending her textual content messages threatening to take her car or truck right until she compensated him the complete amount for the work.

Law enforcement explained in the affidavit that one particular of the texts the sufferer acquired from Charlton said, “this is much from more than.”

Immediately after becoming fired, Charlton returned to the victim’s household, and a verbal altercation ensued right after she caught him attempting to consider the motor out of her car or truck. The affidavit claimed Charlton remaining in his auto but rapidly turned about, accelerated at a fast speed, and drove his automobile right at the victim.

The affidavit said the victim was equipped to get out of the way, and Charlton turned all around and drove by way of her fence.

Law enforcement charged Charlton with harassment and Aggravated Assault, and he was booked into the Davidson County Jail.
