NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A carjacking sufferer jumped on the hood of her motor vehicle as a gunman drove absent.
It occurred at the intersection of Carondelet and Gravier in the center of the day.
Police quickly arrested 28-12 months-outdated Austin Levalley when they say acquired caught in visitors.

A witness explained to Fox 8, that the person turned down Gravier and was performing anything he could to shake the target from the hood.
“He was driving again and forth real rapidly at the very least 60 mph up and down Gravier trying to shake her off the hood. She was screaming, ‘somebody enable me.’ I could not precisely hear what she was declaring when he was driving again and forth. As he was likely down Gravier, when the mild turned green, he was however heading quickly. The other cars turned off and he just jetted out,” a witness mentioned.
Police officers have been in the area patrolling when they witnessed the victim on the hood of the car or truck screaming for help and yelling he robbed me. They say Lavalley became trapped in site visitors at Carondelet and Poydras. Which is when they say he acquired out of the vehicle and ran on foot. The officers had been capable to apprehend him.
Lavalley is booked with armed theft, illegally carrying a weapon, and resisting an officer. Law enforcement say Lavalley was also required for an automobile theft last month.
Lavalley’s community defender informed a magistrate judge this afternoon that he is homeless. He remains locked up on a $105,000 bond as of Monday night time.
